"The staff found the lifts easier to operate than the traditional 'hoyer' style lift and the residents had a much more secure feeling when being transferred with your lift…In 1993 our facility had workers comp. expenses due to medical costs and lost work days of over $100,000. In 1994 [after purchasing lifts] our injury expenses dropped to $29,000 for the year. For the first six months of 1995 we have experienced no lost work days and less than $1,000 in medical expenses due to injury."
